Connecting Country, Culture and Community

This artwork tells the story of the Nepean River and the water Country that surrounds us. For thousands of years, the river has welcomed people, animals, ceremony and life, creating connections between Country, culture and community.

Inspired by these connections, the artwork represents our hope that everyone who enters this place feels welcome, connected and valued.

A welcoming community doesn’t just happen — it is something we all contribute to. That is why it was so important for our students to be involved in creating this artwork. It isn’t simply something made for us; it is something we have been able to be part of.

We are incredibly fortunate to have worked with artist Michael Fardon on this project. Michael shared not only his artistic skills, but also his knowledge, stories and connection to culture. Through the workshops, our students had the opportunity to learn about the ideas behind the artwork and contribute to the creative process.

We were honoured to welcome Uncle Eddie Burge, Aunty Lynn Brown, artist Michael Fardon and Jaleesa Levaci from the GO Foundation as special guests.

Just as the river brings life and brings people together, we hope this mural welcomes our students, staff, families and visitors, reminding us to respect Country, learn from one another and care for the land we all share.

Year 11 Biology Camp Term 3 2026

Our Year 11 Biology students just got back from camp at Wooglemai Environmental Education Centre, where they took part in hands-on fieldwork and explored biological concepts beyond the classroom.

Students investigated local ecosystems, collected and analysed data, and developed their practical scientific skills while experiencing the natural environment firsthand. It was a fantastic opportunity to build their knowledge, work collaboratively and bring their Biology studies to life!

Mrs Bromley and Miss Loader are really proud of how great our kids are! We had such a wonderful time. Thank you Karen, Dave & Lulce for sharing your knowledge and providing an authentic experience for our students!

Camden V Cowra May 2026

Camden V Cowra is held every year in Term 2 Week 6 alternately at Camden High School and Cowra High School.

2026 venue is Camden High School.

During the holidays, our Agriculture students proudly represented our school at the Sydney Royal Easter Show in the School Alpaca Competition.

Cross Country

The cross country is held annually at the Camden equestrian centre. Each year we have over 500 students participating, with around 100 students progressing onto the Macarthur zone carnival. This is a fantastic event that allows students participate to their full potential displaying HPGE outside of the classroom.

Life Ready Program

Today our Year 11 students took part in an excursion as part of their Life Ready program, attending the RYDA Road Safety Workshops.

Students participated in a variety of sessions exploring real-life road safety scenarios and the impact of their decisions as drivers and passengers.

We are proud of our students for their participation and the thoughtful way they engaged with such an important topic.

Camden Show

The Camden High School Vocal Group and Senior Rock Band put on a fantastic performance at the Camden Show.

Great energy, strong vocals, and a crowd that clearly loved every minute

Harmony Day

Another great day embracing culture as part of CHS Harmony Week celebrations.

At recess, our SLC ran a fantastic “Words Around the World” activity in the Harmony Hub, bringing students together through language and culture.

We also had a group of students attend the NRL In League In Harmony League Tag Gala Day, the culmination of five weeks of workshops focused on building teamwork, connection and respect. The day was packed with games, meet-and-greets, giveaways and fun challenges.

Our students represented the school with pride, connecting with others from diverse backgrounds and truly embracing the message of Harmony Week.

This week, our Year 7 Engineering Technologies and Systems classes had a wonderful and unique opportunity to participate in a free incursion delivered by UNSW.

The UNSW Makerbus team worked with students to make a lantern project, where students built their own night light.

This exciting project involved skills in coding, hardware assembly, and construction.
